Bennett Renovations

Bennett Field Renovation Project

Since 1957, Bennett Field in downtown Howell has been the home of Howell Area Junior Baseball (HAJBA). For more than 60 years, in partnership with the City of Howell, hundreds of volunteers have provided a home field for tens of thousands of players to learn and grow through baseball and softball.

Beginning in 2020, HAJBA is launching the Bennett Field Renovation project, to refresh, update and expand access to more players.

Some project highlights include:

  • Improving fan sight lines of the field
  • Increasing accessibility with paver patio behind home plate
  • Replacing, moving and expanding team dugouts
  • Updating layout to provide access to more baseball and softball divisions to play
  • Renovating concessions building and adding restrooms
  • Improving parking lot and site aesthetics
  • Upgrading lights to improve safety and efficiency

This project will be funded by HAJBA through volunteers, donations, sponsorship, and grants. While the final budget and planning is being completed, the current cost estimate is $250,000 over the span of 3-5 years.
