Since 1955, baseball has been played at the corner of Maple and Walnut. Since 1957, Bennett Field in downtown Howell has been the home of Howell Area Junior Baseball (HAJBA). For nearly 7 decades, in partnership with the City of Howell, hundreds of volunteers have provided a home field for tens of thousands of players to learn and grow through baseball and softball.
In 2020, HAJBA launched the Bennett Field Renovation project, to refresh, update and expand access to more players. COVID affected this project pretty hard and now it's time to get the ball rolling again and get closer to our completion date.
Some project highlights include:
This project will be funded by HAJBA through volunteers, donations, sponsorship, and grants. While the final budget and planning is being completed, the current cost estimate is $250,000 over the span of 3-5 years.
HAJBA is actively seeking volunteers, donors and sponsors for this huge renovation project that will provide generations of baseball and softball fun in the years to come.
We can't do it without the support of our community.
