    Uniform Update!

    Dear coach/parents,

JJ Jinkleheimer is once again grateful and proud to be the uniform supplier for HAJBA. As with most everything during the crazy recent times, we had some challenges with uniforms this year. Inventory at our suppliers was in bad shape.

Our suppliers are still working on backfilling their inventory from the shutdowns. We did our best to match up to the team orders but in some cases we had to substitute some items. Tshirts, socks and visors in some colors were difficult to find in some colors and sizes. Nonexistent in others. For example, we are likely to have to do some coaches shirt replacements as usual and some of the socks are going to be a little big for the Tballers!

We ask that if you can, please work with the uniforms you receive, but if there are major issues, we will do our best to help. We will have pants at the field on Saturday for exchange or feel free to stop in JJ Jinkleheimer to exchange as late as 5pm on Friday to exchange.

We will have Howell spirit wear with us on Saturday and will be bringing plenty of t’s, hoodies and caps for purchase!

Your point of contact is Joe Durbin at JJ Jinkleheimer is  jdurbin@jjjink.com 517-546-4345.

Thanks again on behalf of the team at JJ Jinkleheimer!

    2021 Season Update

This has been a year with unique challenges, which forced most community youth sports leagues and many travel teams to take a full year off. We are very proud to have held a healthy and safe 2020 fall season and also made significant progress on several field improvement and maintenance projects - mostly due to volunteers stepping up to help. Thank you all so very much!

Our plans for 2021 will move forward, based on what we know today! We intend to host a traditional Spring season.

    For 2021:

    • A COVID safety plan was released April 1 and is linked here
    • Only Waitlist is available
    • Opening day will be on May 8
    • The season, including tournaments, will wrap up by July 2.
    • Baseball and Softball All-Star weekend will be July 16 - 18
    • Fall Registrations will be open in July and close in early August. Practices will start in line with the start of the school year.
    • Senior Baseball will be a FALL Season, beginning in line with HS Fall sports starting in early August and open to all HS students (Grade 9 - 12). Players who played Major Baseball in the Spring will be able to play at a reduced rate.

As always, there are opportunities to get involved as a volunteer or board member, please review howellbaseball.org for more information.

We look forward to seeing you at the fields!

    HAJBA COVID-19 UPDATE

    REturn to play Safety Plan

    Posted APril 1, 2021

Based on the announcement by the Governor on April 9 suggesting a “pause” by youth sports for two weeks, the HAJBA Board has voted to continue moving forward. Following current CDC guidelines, the pause is requested for indoor and contact sports. As an outdoor, non-contact sport, which can safely space, we are comfortable moving forward.

All families can choose if they would like to participate with the pause. If you plan not to attend practices over this two-week window, please inform your coach.

We have asked, and will continue to ask all coaches and families to carefully and safely follow COVID protocols as we have shared on our website

    • This may mean some coaches asking players to be masked during practices.

    • We also invite coaches to consider breaking up practice groups to work in small groups, or split practice times.

    • Sharing of equipment should be avoided, or it should be properly cleaned and allowed to dry before reuse.

If this impacts your participation for the 2021 season, please email board@howellbaseball.org as soon as possible.
